Wheeler Geologic Area

We rode our bike 6 miles on a very rough 4wd road to the Wheeler Geologic Area. There are some amazing rock formations there left behind by previous volcanic activity and years of erosion.

14er: Redcloud and Sunshine

We had an early season 14er climb in the San Juans. Redcloud is 14,034 ft tall and Sunshine is 14,001 ft tall. They are separated by a 1.5 mile saddle. We had to take the short (and dangerous) route down due to lightning and snow...

Lake City, Colorado

We spent a week in Lake City with the Cathey's and Rich. It was a great time. Bill showed us how to do some prospecting and mineral collecting. Rich showed us (as usual) how to catch fish. It was a fantastic week in Colorado's high country. Here are the photos.

Contemplative Photography

I have been studying Contemplative Photography with Greg Cradick at Working With Artists here in Denver. The have a great mission:

"To enhance the quality of life in the communities we serve by encouraging individual expression and communication through arts education. WWA programs provide motivating learning opportunities and a passionate community to encourage emerging to professional fine artists."

I'm just getting started, but keep an eye on this photo gallery as I work to improve my artistic photography skills.


Green Mountain (Boulder)

Another hike in the Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks. This trail leads to the summit of Green Mountain. There are some great views from the top! Here are the photos.


Centennial Cone Park

We found a new trail in the Denver area. Centennial Cone Park is about 10 miles from Golden on Highway 6. The trails were awesome! Lots of rolling single track. Here are the photos.


Riding Palmer Park

We headed to Colorado Srings to check out the trails at Palmer Park. It is a great place to ride. There are 28 miles of singletrack right in the middle of town. Here are the photos.


Memorial Weekend Hikes

We set out on 2 fantastic hikes this weekend.

The first was the summit Mt. Sanitas near Boulder. We carried semi-full packs to train for the Mt. Whitney. Here are the photos.

The second was the summit of the Twin Sisters. There are fantastic views of Rocky Mtn Nat'l Park and Longs peak! Here are the photos.
